Emergencies are handled by the front desk of the resort on each island, which can summon aerial ambulances or doctors. Remote islands have what are known as flying doctor kits, which contain a range of medicines and medical equipment. Hamilton Island has its own doctor; some other island resorts have staff with nursing and/or medical training.
