This three-story, palm-tree-filled resort, Australia's only Club Med, sits on 1,750 acres on the southern end of the island. Rooms are sparsely furnished, as is the habit at Club Med: those that are poolside or have hot tubs cost more. All overlook the sea and have a balcony or patio, and all border the beach and pool. Six- to eight-night packages—the minimum available here—include accommodations, buffet-style dining, and what the resort bills as "all-day snacking and full bar service," along with evening entertainment and a broad range of outdoor activities. The on-site spa has a selection of pampering treatments.
