Mail, the Internet & Shipping in Canberra

The main post office is open weekdays 8:30-5:30. To send mail poste restante, address it with the recipient's name c/o GPO Canberra, A.C.T. Mail is held for one month. Post offices are in suburban shopping centers throughout the city, or look in the phone book under Australia Post.

Most larger hotels have rooms with data ports or Internet lounges, and some have Wi-Fi. You can have free Internet access at any public library in Canberra. Internet cafés abound throughout town, including in the Canberra Centre shopping mall at City Walk, in Canberra City. Rates are about A$2 for 15 minutes. McDonald's eateries and Starbucks cafés throughout Canberra have Wi-Fi access.
