A good spot to catch your breath amid the Parliamentary Triangle's mix of history, culture, and science is Bookplate, in the foyer of the National Library; it extends out onto a patio overlooking the lake. Sandwiches, salads, cakes, and tea and coffee are served weekdays 8:30-6 and weekends 11-3.
