Occupying a National Heritage building dating from 1924, this elegant hotel has been restored to its original art-deco splendor. Warm peach and earth tones decorate the large, luxurious rooms and spacious suites. Enormous marble bathrooms will appeal to anyone who enjoys a good soak in the tub. The hotel has extensive gardens and is within easy walking distance of the Parliamentary Triangle. Afternoon tea, served daily between 2:30 and 5 in the gracious Tea Lounge, is one of Canberra's most popular traditions.

Having stayed in all of Canberra's 4 to 5 star hotels this one is by far the best.
The Park Hyatt Canberra is a traditional hotel with all the trimmings so if you like cutting edge or trendy it may not be to your liking, however as someone who stays in a number of trendy hotels elsewhere, this place always calls me back to visit!
