February to April, when autumn leaves paint the city parks with amber hues, is a particularly good time to visit. This season also coincides with the February Canberra National Multicultural Festival, just one of the celebrations leading up to Canberra Day festivities in March. The spring flower celebration, Floriade, lasts from mid-September to mid-October. In early January car enthusiasts gather for the popular Summernats, featuring street machines, hot rods, and custom cars.
