Bicycling in Canberra

Canberra has almost 160 km (100 mi) of cycle paths, and the city's relatively flat terrain and dry, mild climate make it a perfect place to explore on two wheels. One of the most popular cycle paths is the 40-km (25-mi) circuit around Lake Burley Griffin.

Mr. Spokes Bike Hire rents several different kinds of bikes as well as tandems and baby seats. Bikes cost A$12 for the first hour, including helmet rental, A$30 for a half day, and A$40 for a full day. Acton Ferry Terminal, Barrine Dr., Acton Park. 02/6257-1188. Closed Mon. and Tues. except during school holidays.
