Fodor's Review:
The most affordable hotel option at the resort is also the most popular. The theme here is the 1860s Outback, complete with corrugated iron, timber beams, and camel saddles, but you won't be roughing it here -- not with a pool and two restaurants. Guests at the adjoining lodge, a budget accommodation with large and small dorms, and a communal kitchen, share the hotel's facilities. The Bough House serves a set-price dinner buffet of traditional roasts and bush specialties like kangaroo, and the Pioneer BBQ self-cook restaurant opens at 6:30 PM. A shuttle bus connects the lodge to the other properties every 15 minutes.

Filthy, disgusting, vile - stay ANYWHERE else... even a tent

Avoid the Outback Pioneer at all costs! My friend and i were there a few months ago and it was shocking. Truly vile.
We had decided to save some money by booking a room with a shared bathroom. It had two bunk beds, cinder block walls, a loud heater that barely worked, a filthy floor and a nasty smell. But worst of all was the surprise that appeared on the floor of the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Since I doubt a dingo snuck into the ladies' room to do its business, a fellow guest missed the toilet. And it stayed on the floor for HOURS. I think it may have still been there around 11 am - by which point some poor soul had squished the nastiness under her shoe.
I was so disgusted by the cleanliness of the whole place that I tossed the flip-flops I wore rather than pack them with my other belongings.
And the rest of the hotel isn't much better. Though I'm a vegetarian, my carnivorous friend said the meat looked rancid (you buy raw food at the "restaurant" and cook it on a BBQ yourself).
Stay at any other hotel!!! Please believe me when I tell you that any money you save won't be worth it. By the time we realized that, every other room at the resort had been booked.
