Fodor's Review:
The largest hotel in the glacier region, this complex is split into two sites about 1 km ( 1/2 mi) apart at the north end of Franz Josef village. The rooms are a cut above average in size and furnishings, but be sure to ask for a room with glacier views -- particularly stunning as the sun rises over the Southern Alps and lights up the glaciers. Larger suites with upgraded facilities are also available, and the hotel has a choice of three restaurants ($$$), none of which serves lunch. Entrées go beyond the basic lamb with choices such as grilled salmon with bok choy and dill aïoli.
