Overlooking the lower Buller River, at the seaward end of the Buller Gorge, this B&B gives you a truly rural experience. The house is surrounded by high bush-clad hills and green farmland; each room overlooks the river and has a perfect view of the dramatic sunsets. Owner Noeline Biddulph, a human treasure trove of local lore, keeps a beautiful garden where you can have a stroll after your meal. Pros: Very well–maintained property, dinner is available if booked at least a day ahead and BYO allows you to try some of that wine you've picked up on your travels. Cons: Slightly out of town on the main highway through to Nelson and the north, on-site dog and cat.
