This striking turn-of-the-20th-century building really was once a convent, beloved by a small group of local nuns who visit for Christmas cheer even now. The relocated and refurbished structure hardly evokes a nunnery now, though, with its luxuriously decorated rooms, rambling lawns and gardens, and evening glasses of Marlborough wine. The Chapel honeymoon suite is the pick of the rooms, but each has a lovely view. Be quick, because this place books fast every year.
