¢, Cafe, Ponsonby
Fodor's Review:
Named after the grandmother of owner Cameron Woodcock, this small café just off Ponsonby Road recalls a time when home baking was served for afternoon tea on plates lined with doilies. You can choose from a counter selection -- displayed on cake stands, of course -- of classic antipodean homemade cakes and cookies, which are duly served with lashings of thick cream and style. Breakfast is a choice between croissants and brioches, and for lunch, filled rolls and chicken mustard pie. A bank of shelves holds quirky finds for sale: cookware, glassware, and assorted treasures.
