$$, City Center
Fodor's Review:
A study in minimalist chic, this small hotel in a former bank building has been on Sydney's hot list since its debut in 2001. From the moment you step into the fashionably dim, charcoal-and-off-white reception area, the setting delivers the requisite degree of cool. Its great location, at the corner of busy George Street, ensures a steady stream of repeat corporate clientele. Rates are low, as is the price of the continental breakfast (A$7.50). The one- and two-bedroom apartments and loft suites all have kitchenettes, whirlpool tubs, and washing machines. Those wanting to sample the city's nightlife need only take the elevator down to the Privilege Bar, deep within the old bank vault.
