$-$$, Australian, Townsville
Fodor's Review:
This restored 1888 building, with its beautiful bull-nose veranda and original iron lacework, is a classic example of Townsville colonial architecture. Rumor has it that back when it was a hotel actor Errol Flynn once stayed here and paid for his keep by selling autographs. Today the building contains a restaurant serving everything from gourmet pizzas to "reef and beef" specialties with an upmarket spin.
