$, American, Thai, Airlie Beach
Fodor's Review:
Overlooking the water from the second floor of a beachfront building, this authentic Thai restaurant is a very popular spot for dinner. The local favorite dish is the Thai fish cakes (lightly fried patties of minced fish and spices). The jungle curry spiced with kachai (a sweet, aromatic spice in the ginger family) lime leaves, red curry paste, and fresh chilies is another great dish. There are also plenty of vegetarian options such as the hot-and-sour coconut soup. The sweet sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf is the only dessert, but it's perfect.
