$-$$, Thai, Alice Springs
Fodor's Review:
Known primarily as a Thai restaurant, this comfortably plush, plum-wall spot also has a tandoori menu, making it the only spot in the desert to offer a range of big-city-quality Southeast Asian food. The grilled Hanuman oysters -- seasoned with lemongrass and sweet basil -- are the big draw; reportedly they've converted even avowed seafood-haters. The wild barramundi with a sticky passionfruit and ginger sauce is also popular. Desserts include black-rice brûlée, and banana spring rolls with dates.
