International and local ATMs are scattered throughout the city. The typical currency of exchange is the U.S. dollar, but banks, exchange kiosks, and hotels can usually exchange other major currencies as well. If exploring rural areas outside of HCMC's sprawl, it's a good idea to take plenty of change, as small shops and stalls frequently have difficulty changing large notes.
