Don't be fooled by the nondescript exterior—once inside the Brahmaputra Grand you'll find every nook and cranny displaying gorgeous, museum-quality Tibetan antiques and artifacts. The only difference here is that everything's for sale. Be careful what you set your heart on—some of the items go for as much as $15,000. From the smartly clad Nepalese bellmen to the gently scented hallways with perfect lighting and dark-wood paneling, you'll be impressed every minute of your stay; the hotel is often ranked one of the best in Lhasa. Even if you're not staying, it's worth visiting the small museum on the second floor. The hotel is 2½ km (1½ mi) east of the Barkhor.
