This is no ordinary Holiday Inn: this stylish, modern hotel exudes the kind of sophistication that most people would never imagine possible from a Holiday Inn or from Patong in general. The hotel has two wings. In the main wing, the superior rooms above the terrace are nicer. A colorful hallway leads to the Kids' Suites, which have bunk beds and Playstations in the children's room; Family Suites are larger—a king-size parents' room is connected to a pirate-theme kids' room that has two separate beds. The hotel has two activities centers for kids (featuring Thai culture, arts, and crafts classes), as well as a children's pool with a waterfall. The Busakorn wing has a separate reception area; Thai-style, peaked-roof rooms; and an adults-only swimming pool surrounded by Singha and elephant sculptures and fountains. The main swimming pool, like the rest of the resort, is across the road from the beach but is buffered from the street by an Italian café, which is a great place to watch the sun set. Pros: central location; children's programs. Cons: family atmosphere not ideal for everyone.
