Also popular with kids is the Pattaya Monkey Training Center. The pig-tailed monkeys, who live about 40 years, are adept at harvesting coconuts, a skill they are taught over the course of a year. This training is not just for show; once schooled in coconut collecting, the monkeys are each worth several thousand dollars to resorts that want their coconut trees harvested. But at this training center they are also taught a few other entertaining tricks that bring a smile to the face of even the most jaded traveler.
