Opulence is the standard at the Trisara resort; rooms feature a variety of Thai wooden art pieces, silk throw pillows on the divans, and 32-inch plasma TVs hidden in the walls. The spacious library contains an abundance of literature, magazines, music, and games for the occasional rainy day. The restaurant serves meals on an enormous wooden deck built over a giant pool, beneath swaying palms and beside the resort's small, private beach. Guests enjoy golf at a 36-hole course just 15 minutes away. If you simply love Trisara (which translates roughly to "inner peace"), then you can purchase one of the villa homes. Pros: beautiful Thai decor; golf course. Cons: often fully booked.
