Lanta Nakara

Fodor's Review:

If you're staying in a resort on a beautiful, white-sand beach with crystal-clear, blue water you should treat yourself to a room with a view. Fortunately, if you stay at Lanta Nakara (formerly Lanta Resortel), you will have such a view, even if you get stuck in a room at the back—most wooden bungalows are positioned so that you can look down a sandy walkway to the beach. So whether lying in bed and looking through the picture window, or lounging on one of two daybeds on the deck, you'll appreciate the tranquility of the Andaman Sea. Ask for one of the rooms away from the restaurant and pool to ensure quiet. When it gets too hot, retreat to the air-conditioned bliss of your cottage, which has wooden floors and rattan walls—a perfect blend of island design and modern amenities. Pros: friendly staff; great views. Cons: bland design.
