The newer deluxe villas at this resort are fashionably Thai, with wooden bed frames, trims, and desks; Thai art on walls; and outdoor showers. Older deluxe beach-view rooms are refurbished concrete rooms with boutique touches like loose-stone floors outside the baths, canopies over the beds, and stylish lighting, but look somewhat contrived. Suites around the pool are similar to the villas, but have more amenities like DVD players and wet bars in the sitting rooms. The beachside swimming pool thumps with hip-hop beats to please a young, fun clientele. The large, semicircular restaurant and bar has glassed-in walls for full views of the beach and the sea. Pros: trendy place; hip crowd. Cons: older rooms not as nice; not ideal for families.
