It's only a short walk along the beach to the best swimming spot, but the sand gets so hot you'll be glad to have the pool outside your room. Bungalows come in all permutations from fan-cooled and cold-water-only to air-conditioned, with hot water and all the standard amenities. The beachfront rooms are the best of the lot and have the most amenities (even TVs). Shady twin massage beds and southern Thai-style elevated dining tables with chill-out pillows and peaked roofs (both by the beach) help you keep your cool. There's even a hip little hippie beach bar that sells shell necklaces. Pros: good choice of accommodations; good Western food at restaurant. Cons: not the best value.
