This expansive resort was hit hard by the tsunami but has been rebuilt to look almost identical to how it looked before: gorgeous. Accommodations are in large, Thai-style, peaked-roof villas in landscaped tropical gardens or in rooms in a three-story building farther from the beach (only the top floor has an ocean view). Deluxe rooms are luxurious, with hardwood floors, glass-enclosed baths that see through to the living room, and sundecks. Villas have canopy beds, triangular floor pillows, lounge areas, and outdoor rain showers. Pros: on beach; tasteful Thai furnishings. Cons: large resort, so not intimate.
