Bay View and Arayaburi Resorts

Fodor's Review:

All rooms at these two neighboring resorts are on a hill at the far eastern end of Tonsai Bay. Every bungalow has a large deck with a great view of both Phi Phi Lae and Tonsai Bay. These two resorts share everything but their names. The only difference between them is the room decor: Bay View is older and its rooms have hardwood floors, whereas Arayaburi is newer and its rooms have tile floors—the wood-floor rooms feel more traditional and natural, which suits the environment better. Arayaburi rooms are closer to the small "private" beach, which is slightly better than the water in front of the reception area, which is quite shallow and not great for swimming. The resort is on the quietest spot along Laem Hin Beach and it's only a short (although sometimes slippery) 15-minute walk along the rocks to gorgeous Long Beach. Electric cars transfer guests from distant rooms to the reception and restaurant areas. Pros: quiet location; great views; breakfast included. Cons: removed from main village; not on best beach.
