Fodor's Review:

The whole resort is surrounded by a 10-foot-tall terra-cotta wall, and it feels like you are entering an ancient Thai village, rather than a beach resort. The lobby, like much of the resort, features numerous works of Thai art, furniture, and flowers. All rooms are within two-story brown-and-burnt-orange structures that are surrounded by five distinct gardens and a lagoon; the color scheme is so complementary and the grounds so beautiful you could spend a whole day taking photographs. When you need actual rest, you can always head back to your room and collapse on the huge, comfy sofa on your balcony. At night, tiki torches light up the walkways that connect the rooms with the restaurants. Activities include Thai cooking classes, croquet, and elephant-riding classes in the resort's elephant camp. For large groups, there are even elephant polo lessons! Pros: lots of elephants; inspiring setting. Cons: verges on stuffy; expensive.
