Sofitel Central Hua Hin Resort

Fodor's Review:

When the upper classes from the capital followed the royal family to Hua Hin, they needed somewhere to stay. The Royal Hua Hin Railway Hotel was constructed to give these weary travelers somewhere to rest their heads. Near the intersection of Damnernkasem and Naresdamri roads you can still see the hotel, now called the Sofitel Central Hua Hin Resort. The magnificent Victorian-style colonial building was a stand-in for the hotel in Phnom Penh in the film The Killing Fields. Be sure to wander through its well-tended gardens and along the lovely verandas.
