Getting Here & Around

Krabi's airport is about two hours from Koh Lanta by taxi (B2,300) or minibus (B300 to B400). Minibuses depart from Krabi Town and Ao Nang, not the airport. There's no direct bus service from Bangkok to Koh Lanta; you'll have to take the bus to Trang or Krabi and then continue on in a minivan (songthaews will take you from the bus station to the minivans bound for Koh Lanta.) Two ferries travel between Lanta and the mainland. There is one main road running through the island that will take you to all major resorts. Pick-up trucks masquerading as taxis and motorcycles with sidecars will take you wherever you want to go. Negotiate hard for good fares; prices start at about B40 for a short ride of 1 km (mi).
