Getting Here & Around

By Bus

Buses to Lopburi leave Bangkok's Mo Chit Northern Bus Terminal (Mo Chit) about every 20 minutes between 6 am and 7 pm. Tickets for the three-hour journey start at B142 for air-conditioned buses. Lopburi is an hour and a half from Ayutthaya on the green 607 bus from Ayutthaya's bus terminal. Lopburi's bus station is located about 6 km (3.7 mi) from town, making it necessary to take a tuk-tuk or songthaew into town.

By Car

If you're driving from Bangkok, take Highway 1 (Phahonyothin) north via Salaburi. The trip will take up to two hours.

By Train

The Northeastern train line has frequent service from Bangkok to Lopburi. Three morning and two afternoon trains depart for the three-hour trip from Bangkok's Hua Lamphong Station. Trains back to Bangkok run in the early and late afternoon. Since Lopburi is such a short distance from Bangkok, advance tickets aren't necessary. Fares for air-conditioned cars on the express train are B344. Lopburi's station is located downtown near historic sites and lodgings on Na Phra Kan Road.
