Holiday Inn Resort Review

The Holiday Inn couldn't have a better location—it's on more than 50 acres of tropical gardens along a beach with only three other resorts, which has gorgeous blue water with a sandy sea floor, where you can swim and snorkel year-round. Most bungalows have identical design, with parquet floors, comfortable indoor daybeds, and decks with lounge chairs. However, a few rooms are family-style duplexes; those numbered 100 to 118 are also beachfront. There are also hillside rooms with spectacular beach views, and an additional pool, bar, and restaurant. The Terrace Restaurant ($$$$), which serves Thai and international cuisines, has splendid views of the sea, and the cliff-side satay bar is one of the few sunset viewpoints on the island. Classes in Thai culture, arts, cooking, and language are offered throughout the week. The resort offers boat service from Phuket.

    Once bitten.....forever smitten !

Since discovering this wonderful resort many years ago, we have returned again and again. Located in the very peaceful Laem Tong Bay, this is the ideal destination for some chill-out time.
There are around 80 bungalows, including 20 beachfront units. Right behind them there are the beachview bungalows then the garden bungalows and at the back are the hillside bungalows.
They are mostly identical in design and furnishing. No in-room TV....fantastic... but all rooms have a hi-fi unit. Reception have cd's for loan, but take a couple of your own favourites and of course when you then play them at home....memories of Phi Phi will come flying back.
The rooms are not luxurious but are spotlessly clean and perfectly adequate.
The resort is set in beautiful mature gardens.
The beach is fabulous. Lovely soft white sand and crystal clear water. There is very good snorkelling right from the beach.
The Sunset Satay bar at the top of the hill has wonderful views across the sea.
Arriving at this resort for the first time is a never forgotten experience. If you arrive by ferry from Phuket, usually, it will anchor in the bay. Longtails will come out to collect guests and their luggage. Upon arrival, in front of reception you may be required to wade a short distance to the beach.......and that's it.......your visit to paradise has begun.
