This restaurant stands in a shady grove near the southern end of Bakantiang Beach. The "dining room" is very Robinson Crusoe, enclosed by a rudimentary roof with a dozen tables on the sand and wood bar. Have your longtail boat drop you off here and pick you up on the northern end of the beach an hour or so later, so you have time for a swim before you eat, and a nice walk on the beach when you're done. Same Same serves some southern Thai dishes, typically spicy. We recommend the fried prawns with tamarind sauce topped with fried shallot and chili. Smoothies and ice-cold beer are perfect for combating the afternoon heat.
