Chiang Dao Caves

Chiang Dao Caves Review

Thailand's most famous caves, the Chiang Dao Caves, run deep into the mountain that broods over the small town of Chiang Dao. The caverns, only some of which are lighted, contain spectacular stalagmites and stalactites and hundreds of Buddha statues and other votive items, placed there by devout Buddhists, for whom caves have a deep religious significance. About half the caves have electric lights, but make sure you have a flashlight in your pocket in case there's a power failure. Guides can be hired for B100.
