Fodor's Review:

Chiang Khon's best hotel sits on the south bank of the Mekong River, commanding unobstructed views to the hills of Laos on the other side. Extensive gardens drop to the water's edge and are a pleasant spot for an evening stroll. Pros: airy dining room. Cons: small bothrooms; unreliable shower.
