Amari, which normally runs luxurious city hotels, manages this stylish country resort in the mountains near Doi Ang Khan. Rooms have all the comforts of Amari's downtown digs, with teak furnishings and locally woven fabrics. All rooms have private balconies, many of them with spectacular views of the mountains. Pros: good restaurant, the Camellia, with first-class cuisine; open log fire in the lobby in cool season. Cons: 2 km (1 mi) from the village center.
