Built around an attractive interior courtyard, which is romantically lighted for evening dining, the Dhevaraj has all the comforts and facilities of a top-class hotel. Rooms are cozily furnished and the bed linen is high quality. The location couldn't be better, across from the city market and within a short walk of all the sights. A welcome plate of fresh fruit in your room is a nice touch, but shun the complimentary "American" breakfast (congealed fried eggs, warped ham, and tasteless sausage) in favor of a cup of Thai rice soup at the market. Pros: cool interior courtyard. Cons: lousy breakfast; some rooms need refurbishing.
