From the superior rooms in this high-eaved, Lanna-style hotel you are treated to magnificent views of three rivers rushing together. The smart restaurant, the Border View, lives up to its name, but the best way to enjoy the panorama is to soak it up with a glass of Mekong whiskey on the terrace. Classical Thai dance is performed in the evening during high season. Pros: spectacular sunsets over the Mekong from the restaurant terrace; excellent travel service. Cons: access to many rooms involves climbing flights of stairs.
