This gleaming white high-rise, which sits on an island in the Mae Kok River, has tons of amenities, including the largest outdoor pool in Northern Thailand. The complex's three wings all have spacious rooms overlooking the river and filled with modern renditions of traditional Thai furnishings and unexpected extras like large marble baths. The Peak grills up delicious steaks, while Chinatown stir-fries Cantonese fare. The casual Island Café serves Thai food all day and has a breakfast buffet. All three dining rooms have impressive views. Pros: great breakfast; bathrooms with tubs. Cons: some guests say it's showing its age.
