Although Chiang Mai has fancier French restaurants, none can match the value offered by Daniel at his charming restaurant on the airport road. A typical three-course lunch menu of salad, home-cured charcuterie, and crepes in Daniel's own alcohol-laced orange sauce costs less than B200, while the B350 menu often features free-range chicken and duck from royal project farms (agricultural projects designed to give hill tribes an alternative to opium production). The dining room is classic French, with Gallic attention to table settings and tableware.
