Chiang Rai's best seafood restaurant is a 15-minute tuk-tuk drive south of the city, but the journey is worth it. A large variety of seafood and lake fish is prepared according to Thai or Chinese recipes. The tabtim (sweet-tasting lake fish) in garlic-and-pepper sauce is particularly recommended. Although the restaurant sits on the busy superhighway, opposite the Big C megastore, you dine in a pleasant garden setting.
