Phrae
Getting Here and Around
Daily air-conditioned buses from Bangkok and Chiang Mai headed for Nan stop at Phrae. It's a 10-hour journey from Bangkok and 5 hours from Chiang Mai. Fares are B400 to B600. Air-conditioned buses travel between Lampang and Phrae (three hours) daily. There's local bus service between Phrae and Nan, an uncomfortable but cheap journey of two to three hours between each center. Hiring a car and driver in Lampang or Chiang Mai is the easiest way to get here (about B1,000 per day).
