While in Pai, you can join a white-water rafting trip sponsored by Pai in the Sky Rafting (114 Moo 4, Tambon Viengtai. 053/699145 or 084/174-6157). The two-day outing on the Khong River sends you through steep-sided gorges, past spectacular waterfalls, and over 15 sets of rapids. An overnight stop is made at the Pai in the Sky camp, near the confluence of the Pai and Kohong rivers, before reaching the end point outside Mae Hong Son. The trips, costing B2,000, are made daily June to February, when the rivers are at their peak.
