Getting Here & Around

The ubiquitous songthaews provide the local transport service. They charge B15, although it's usual to round up to B20. Two buses daily run between Chiang Mai's Chiang Phuak bus station and Chiang Saen, taking 4½ hours. The fare is about B150; buses stop in the center of town and at the boat piers.
