Si Saket

Si Saket

With the exception of a newly constructed temple, Phrathat Ruang Rong, which is said to be one of the biggest in the northeastern part of the country, the provincial, unexciting town of Si Saket is best known for its pickled garlic and onions. However, it is a convenient place to overnight if visiting the ruins at Phra Wihan. In early March, when the lamduan flower blooms, the town comes alive in a riot of yellows and reds. Locals celebrate with a three-day festival, the Lamduan Ban Fair, which centers around the beautiful Somdej Sri Nakharin Park.
