The elegant lobby, decorated with Thai flair in subdued shades of purple and beige, feels more refined than its surroundings. The suites are quite chic, spacious, and artsy, and far more furnished than the "superior rooms," which don't deserve their moniker. (Apart from the suites, Laithong is a better choice for lodging.) The hotel also has a mellow restaurant and piano bar—useful since the hotel is far from the city center. Pros: opulent suites with suave design; cool lobby; more like a private residence than hotel. Cons: non-suite rooms dark; far from town; no elevator.
