This is Nakhon Phanom's top-rated hotel, but the worn-out look of some of the carpets and furniture doesn't merit it five stars in our book. Its rooms, from standard to presidential, are clean and airy, but only the more-expensive river-view rooms have splendid vistas. There's a beautiful waterfront pool overlooking the legendary river, and you can also get a river-view massage. Pros: great river views from some rooms; large and beautiful pool with great views; pleasant dining room and coffee shop overlooking the Mekong. Cons: far from town center; superior rooms have worn carpets and old furniture; standard ("superior") rooms a poor value compared to other hotels.
