Wat Noen Pranao Review

Wat Noen Pranao is in a shaded forest, and makes for an interesting excursion. The central ubosot is the dominating structure, with its rich motifs and gold stenciling, but the aging wooden hall to its east and the small courtyard bungalows are also worth investigating. This is Nong Khai's leading meditative retreat and is serious business for those involved, who practice meditation and abstinence to heal their troubled souls. You can reach the center on the Nong Khai-Phon Pisai Road by songthaew, which costs around B70.
