Phu Phrabat Historical Park

Phu Phrabat Historical Park Review

One hour by bus northwest of Udon Thani is a 1,200-acre mountainside retreat near the village of Ban Phue. It's littered with rocks of all sizes, some in shapes that the faithful say resemble Buddhist and Hindu images. Take the path to the right of the temple and you'll reach a cave with silhouette paintings thought to be 4,000 years old. Local buses from Udon Thani's Nong Khai bus station go to Ban Phue for B55, and a songthaew or motorbike taxi can get you the last few kilometers to the park.
