Wat Po Chai

Wat Po Chai Review

Wat Po Chai is Nong Khai's best-known and most attractive temple, easily accessible by way of Prajak Road. It houses a revered gold Buddha image, Luang Pho Phra Sai, which was lost for many centuries after capsizing in a storm and falling to the muddy bottom of the Mekong. Its rediscovery, part of the local lore, is displayed in a number of beautiful murals seen spread over the ubosot (ordination hall) walls.
