Isan Hotel Reviews

Because relatively few tourists visit Isan, most hotels and guesthouses cater chiefly to a business clientele. There are some top-class hotels in larger towns like Korat, Khon Kaen, and Udon Thani, but most accommodations are much more modest. As elsewhere in Thailand, standards of cleanliness are high and even the most basic room will invariably have fresh linen and towels.

Isan is a bargain—with the exception of Khon Kaen's Sofitel, it is difficult to spend more than US$50 a night even at the top-end hotels. Remember that such refinements as room telephones, TVs, and even hot water, can be rare outside the cities.
